Doppler Radar

Doppler Radar
Hurricane Katrina

Doppler radar is a type of mapping used by meteorologists used in predicting rainfall and storm occurrences like the one above showing hurricane Katrina in 2005. The way it works is by using sound waves and electromagnetic radio waves to analyze the weather. These systems were originally developed for the military but have since revolutionized weather prediction.
