Mental Map

Mental Map
Lough Neagh Lake

Humans are always memorizing information about places, regions, landmarks etc. in their brain. The information that we store is used for our daily tasks for example finding our way to class or even giving a friend driving directions to a party. Although we don’t ever see this information physically it is stored in our brains and referred to as mental maps. Because a mental map depicts what an individual knows about a specific location and its uniqueness no mental maps are alike. The map shown above is of Lough Neagh as perceived by local fishermen. Lough Neagh is a large freshwater lake located in Northern Ireland and is known for attracting fishermen and bird watchers.
